Recently, the water supply tunnel of Xiaobaihe Reservoir, a key livelihood project in Tieli City constructed by the Bridge Engineering Bureau Group of China Railway Construction, was successfully broken through. This marks a major phased achievement in the construction of Xiaobaihe Reservoir in Tieli City. Xiaobaihe Reservoir is a comprehensive water conservancy project primarily for urban water supply, while alsotaking into account farmland irrigation and flood control for the downstream area. Upon completion, it will meet the water demand of 270,000 people in Tieli City, effectively improve drinking water quality, and enhance the irrigation conditions for 22,000 mu of paddy fields downstream. As the key water conveyance channel of the reservoir, the water supply tunnel has a total length of 224.32 meters, and the water supply structure is 633.74 meters long. During the construction process, the project team always prioritized engineering quality, strictly controlling every construction process. Aiming at the challenges of complex geological conditions encountered in tunnel construction, such asfragmented rocks and abundant groundwater, the project team organized experts for technical research, formulated detailed construction plans, used information-based construction management means to monitor the entire process of tunnel construction, promptly identified and addressed problems in construction, strictly controlled construction quality, and ensured that every process met high-standard requirements, thus guaranteeing the forming quality and structural stability of the tunnel. In the project construction process, the owner unit, Tieli Water Affairs Bureau, the supervision unit, and the construction unit closely collaborated. The project was meticulously organized for construction, the construction schedule was reasonably arranged, and difficulties such as narrow construction sites and great construction challenges in high-cold regions were overcome to ensure the smooth progress of project construction. The three parties formed a strong work synergy, jointly promoting the efficient development of project construction. The successful breakthrough of the water supply tunnel of Xiaobaihe Reservoir is an important milestone in the development of water conservancy undertakings in Tieli City.
After the tunnel is thoroughfare, it will work together with the main project of the reservoir and other supporting facilities to build a perfect water supply system, which will also play a positive role in improving the regional ecological environment, promoting agricultural development, and enhancing the quality of residents' lives, injecting new impetus into Tieli City's realization of rural revitalization and sustainable development.
