On the early morning of May 27, 2025, after 4 hours of continuous pouring, the Zhenxi River Double-track Bridge of Yuwan High-speed Railway, constructed by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau, was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the line to open to traffic on schedule. Yuwan High-speed Railway is a component of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network.
The line starts from Chongqing East Railway Station, passes through Nan'an District, Banan District, Fuling District, Fengdu County, Zhongxian County of Chongqing, and ends at Wanzhou North Railway Station, with a total main line length of 251 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Located in Zhenxi Town, Fuling District, Chongqing, the Zhenxi River Double-track Bridge has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a total length of about 431 meters. The main bridge of the bridge is a (72+128+72)m continuous beam constructed by the cantilever method, with 16 symmetrical segments of the continuous beam. It has difficulties such as high operation risks, complex construction environment, and high requirements for environmental and water conservation. Tian Chaojiang, the person in charge of the YUWAN High-speed Railway Station Front 5th Standard Project of China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau, introduced that the Zhenxi River Double-track Bridge is a key and difficult project of the whole line. The bridge site crosses the Zhenxi River, a first-class tributary of the Yangtze River, and the river-crossing main pier is located in the Zhenxi River. Affected by the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir, the water level difference reaches 30 meters, with the characteristics of great difficulty in deep water foundation construction, high safety risks, and great difficulty in construction organization.
In order to ensure the smooth closure of the continuous beam of the Zhenxi River Double-track Bridge, the project department actively planned and carefully prepared the steel trestle construction plan and the special construction plan for the continuous beam. Before the operation, special personnel were arranged to carefully inspect and accept each process such as the installation of the closure section formwork, the binding of steel bars, the locking of the rigid skeleton, and the counterweight of the closure section, strengthen the on-site safety technical guarantee, and strictly check the key processes. According to the relevant person in charge of the Fengdu Command of Yuwan Railway Co., Ltd., the project builders have continued to adhere to the construction goal of 'high standards, high quality, and dedicated to building a high-quality ecological railway project in the dangerous mountains of Southwest China', innovatively carried out the research on intelligent construction of bridge engineering, and equipped with new equipment such as intelligent cantilever bridge builders.
At present, the construction of various projects of Yuwan High-speed Railway is progressing smoothly. 33 of the 56 tunnels along the whole line have been, and 18 of the 135 bridges along the whole line have been closed. It is reported that after the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will promote the convenient connection between the urban agglomeration in the Three Gorges Reservoir area of Northeast Chongqing and the main urban agglomeration, greatly facilitate the travel of the people along the line, and promote the economic and social development along the line. It is of great significance for better serving the implementation of the major strategy of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle construction and boosting the linkage development of the 'the Belt and Road' and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
